Hello readers...
This blog is in response of the thinking activity of Transcendentalism and its philosopht at large. Here we will discuss some important points about the above.
1.) Transcendentalism talks about individual's relation with nature. What is nature for you.share your views.
Yes,it is true thatTranscendentalism talks about individual's relation with nature.Key transcendentalism beliefs were that humans are inherently good but can be corrupted by society and institutions, insight and experience and more important than logic, spirituality should come from the self, not organized religion, and nature is beautiful and should be respected.
For me nature is something which kept us alive, a spark that connects us to the light of God and a belief that there is humanity. Also there are five predominant elements of Transcendentalism are nonconformity, self-reliance, free thought, confidence, and the importance of nature. These concepts are liberally sprinkled throughout Emerson's essay "Nature." When Emerson says that we should
"demand our own works and laws and worship,"
he espouses nonconformity.
2.) Transcendentalism is an American Philosophy thay influenced American literature at length.can you find any Indian/regional literature or philosophy came up with such similar thought?
As a group, the transcendentalists led the celebration of the American experiment as one of individualism and self-reliance. They took progressive stands on women's rights, abolition, reform, and education. They criticized government, organized religion, laws, social institutions, and creeping industrialization. It describes a very simple idea all people have knowledge about themselves and the world around that goes beyond what they can see, hear, feel, touch and taste. Through his contributions to the philosophy of transcendentalism, he inspired a uniquely American idealism and spirit of reform.
Indian origin work which somehow reflects the idea of transcendentalism with Indian art such as:
š”Buddha's teachings
š”Kalidas's works
š”Vedanta
š”Bhagwat Geeta
š”Lord Krishna's beliefs
Indian learnings as a reaffirmation of Transcendentalism, which was ultimately an act of experiencing the world, set against the intellectual and spiritual vacuity that it came to perceive in social institutions, including the church, university and politics.
Thank you...
